Broadcasting career

Kite has reported on the East edition of Central News since 2003, mainly presenting celebrity interviews and reporting for a weekly feature Entertainment Tonight (for both East and West sub-regions), whilst also standing in for Sameena Ali-Khan, the main newscaster at the time.[1]

Kite also presented Sky High, a regional programme covering views of the Midlands from a helicopter, until she was replaced by Ruth England.

Following the departure of Joanne Malin (the West edition main newscaster) from Central Tonight in October 2008, Lucy temporarily replaced her for the following three months. Following the merger of the East and West editions of the programme, Lucy was dropped as a newscaster and was appointed as the new weather presenter.[1]

In August 2010 she presented the weather forecasts on London Tonight for ITV London.
